January Employee Spotlight: Zach Hagee
Job Title: Account Representative

What does your day-to-day look like at Crownstone Equipment?
As an Account Representative, my main responsibility is to develop and manage customer accounts from a sales perspective. This includes everything from cold calling potential clients and meeting with them on-site, to providing quotes and overseeing the final delivery and walk-around of their equipment. I guide our customers through every step of the process to ensure they get the right equipment for the job. Additionally, I assist with inquiries related to rentals, parts, and services.

How long have you worked in the industry?
I started at Crownstone in November 2020, but my career in the industry began back in 2008 when I started technical trade school. I originally trained as a truck and heavy equipment mechanic.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Outside of work, I enjoy cutting and splitting firewood. Recently, I’ve been exploring live-edge wood projects. I love spending time with my daughter and two bonus kids, whether we're playing video games, visiting the trampoline park, or enjoying a bonfire at home. We especially enjoy cooking dinner over the open fire. People would be surprised to learn that I also bake cakes in my free time!

Is there anyone you consider to be a mentor in your career? If not, who inspires you outside of work?
My father has been the biggest mentor throughout my life and career. He spent many years as a sales rep and retired as a national sales manager at a major communications company. His work ethic and dedication continue to inspire me.

What is your favorite part about the job?
I really enjoy meeting new people and building relationships and friendships. Ultimately, though, my passion lies in the equipment. I’ve been fascinated by trucks and heavy machinery since I was young, and that early interest is what drives me today.

What has the job taught you?
I’ve learned two key lessons in this role:

  1. "Take care of the customer first; the money comes second."
  2. "Keep your highs low and your lows high."

We truly appreciate Zach’s dedication and the hard work he puts in every day. This is why we’re proud to shine a spotlight on him this month. Thank you, Zach, for everything you do!
