Katy Metzger - Employee Spotlight September 2024

Crownstone Equipment's Employee Spotlight for September shines on Katy Metzger. Katy started with the company two years ago as our Trucking Manager for McGrew Logistics and then switched to an Asset Coordinator for Crownstone Equipment. As an Asset Coordinator, she helps keep track of current, incoming, and outgoing inventory with a high concentration on Lawn & Garden.

In her spare time, Katy usually finds herself outdoors, attending a concert, or traveling with her friends and family. You might be surprised to know that Katy has a camper van named Sandy! She purchased Sandy last August and has taken her on a weekend trip already, but she has big plans to repaint, decorate, and take additional trips this fall. Katy’s favorite memory just happened – a trip to Guatemala where she helped New Life Children’s Home with multiple work projects like painting, planting, and trimming.

When asked about her biggest mentor, she said, “I would say my biggest mentor in my career has been my manager, Alexa Hinebaugh. She is an extremely hard worker and an amazing manager. She is excellent at communicating her expectations and letting me know areas in which I need to improve in a way that is productive. She is always available to help me work through any issues that arise and has done an excellent job in training me. I also admire her willingness to help others even when it does not fall within her realm of responsibilities. If she doesn’t have the answer to your question or problem, she will work at getting you an answer or pointing you in the right direction to find it. She leads by example and is a team player.” Katy said her job has taught her that things change often, and sometimes you have to roll with the punches!
